NetMotion Mobility XE Extends South West Water Windows Mobile Deployment

With Microsoft confirming support of Windows Mobile until 2019 we have recently seen significant take-up of NetMotion Mobility XE by organisations deploying Windows Mobile devices.

As an example of this I would like to share with you what has recently happened at South West Water where they have just placed a follow-on order deploying NetMotion Mobility software for 400 Windows Mobile users to enhance productivity in poor coverage areas of Devon and Cornwall.

This time last year they bought licenses for their ruggedized laptops. They thought the Windows Mobile users would be just fine continuing to use existing Microsoft tools and connection methods and hence could get by without NetMotion Mobility XE.

South West Water

After the project went live they had feedback over several months from users not able to connect satisfactorily and hence finding the applications difficult to use, impacting productivity and threatening the success of the entire project.

The IT Team at South West Water requested a no-cost, 30-day evaluation of NetMotion Mobility software and ran a trial in January for their 300 Windows Mobile users.

The results were so successful that not only did they place an order for Mobility XE to install on the 300 devices in scope, they also decided to deploy a further 100 devices that their previous experience had not been connected real-time.

Implementing NetMotion Mobility XE challenged that and allowed them to successfully extend the reach of their real-time business processes.

So, NetMotion Mobility not only secured an initial handheld device deployment under threat, the demonstrated success enabled real-time applications to be enabled on 30% more devices with associated software and services.

We will be preparing a full case-study on the South West Water experience, however if in the meantime you have Windows Mobile devices who need immediate help benefiting from the value which NetMotion Mobility XE can bring, please click on the link below and we can help install a no cost evaluation to allow you to measure the benefits or your organisation for laptops, tablets and handhelds.
